Brief description:

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme was established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development to enable French higher education establishments to attract top foreign students to enrol in their master's and PhD courses.

Eiffel scholarship-holders on Master's courses receive a monthly allowance of 1,181 (1,031 of maintenance allowance and ?150 of monthly compensation). Eiffel scholarship-holders on PhD courses receive a monthly allowance of 1,400.

In addition, the programme meets various expenses including return trip, social security cover, and cultural activities. Scholarship-holders might also be eligible for additional accommodation allowance under certain conditions.

Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel Programme.

Eligibility:

Nationality: This programme is reserved for candidates of non-French nationality. Candidates with two nationalities, one of which is French, are not eligible.

Age: For master's courses, candidates must be no older than 30 on the date of the selection committee meeting, i.e. born after 11/03/1984; at PhD level, candidates must be no older than 35 on the date of the selection committee meeting, i.e. born after 11/03/1979.

Origin of applications: Only applications submitted by French educational establishments are accepted. These establishments undertake to enrol scholarship holders on the course for which they have been selected. Applications submitted by any other means shall not be considered. Furthermore, any candidate nominated by more than one establishment shall be disqualified.

Courses of study: Scholarships are for students wishing to enrol on a master's course, including at an engineering school, and for PhD students. The Eiffel Programme does not apply to French-run master's courses abroad, as non-PhD scholarship holders must complete at least 75% of their course in France. It does not apply to training under an apprenticeship contract or a professional training contract either.

Combination with other scholarships: Foreign students who, at the time of application, have already been awarded a French government scholarship under another programme are not eligible, even if the scholarship in question does not include social security cover.

For Eiffel Doctoral Scholarship: Establishments may nominate a candidate who was previously awarded an Eiffel scholarship at master's level for a scholarship at PhD level. Candidates who have already been awarded an Eiffel scholarship once during their PhD cannot be awarded it for a second time. No application will be accepted for any student who applied previously but was rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study.

For Eiffel Master Scholarship: No application will be accepted for any student who applied previously but was rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study. Students who have already been awarded an Eiffel scholarship at master's level are not eligible to re-apply at master's level.

Language level: When pre-selecting non-French-speaking candidates, establishments must make sure that their language skills meet the requirements of the relevant course of study.

The "Master Scholarships "le-de-France" aims to support the work of the Paris International Recruitment of higher education institutions with a reception and scholarship funding system towards foreign students. The number of scholarships is limited enrollment and defined each year on the occasion of the vote of the regional budget.

Brief description:

Individual aid is intended for newly arrived foreign students, aged 30 maximum in the year of selection, wishing to prepare a master's degree in initial training and learning off alternately in a higher education institution in Ile-de- France whatever the chosen field of study.However excludes course in Specialized Masters, Magister, Master of Business Administration.

Conditions of eligibility

All nationalities are eligible. Priority is given to candidates, however, of countries from which the priority areas of decentralized cooperation in the Region.

The bi-national candidates, when they have French nationality, are not eligible.

The granting of the scholarship depends on the acceptance by the candidate of the following conditions that must respect throughout his master:

  • Agree not to submit only one application at a regional host device scholarship foreign students "Bourse Master Ile-de-France" to the higher education institution of their choice.The filing of multiple applications make the student ineligible for regional exchange device;
  • Commit to follow assiduously in the same establishment the entire university education for which the stock has been selected;
  • Being hosted throughout his training stay in ?le-de-France, in housing that has been specially reserved to him by the Region.
  • Perform primarily in le-de-France any internships or research-related training which should not exceed an annual total period of 12 weeks. T ny period off le-de-France will lead to a reduction in proportion to the amount of the Exchange;
  • Come unaccompanied le-de-France.

Help is potentially renewable for one year for students winners of the aid under the first year of master (master 1) to enable them to complete their studies in le-de-France, under the double condition of being admitted to the second year of a coherent curriculum and see their file again validated by the establishment welcoming.

Nature and modalities of intervention

Applications are evaluated individually by a jury chaired by the Region and of experts chosen for their skills.

These results will consequently be subject to approval of the Standing Committee of the Regional Council.

Award and amount of aid:

The regional exchange includes accommodation in a single dwelling. It includes the payment of the fee of the booked accommodation by the Region and an allocation whose use is left to the student. For the duration of the academic year and in any event for a stay that can not be less than 10 consecutive months, it amounts to 10,500 euros.

ERASMUS MUNDUS:

Erasmus+ is the new UE program for education, training, youth and sports, and covers the 2014-2020 period. Among many innovations, Erasmus+ offers a gradual replacement of "Erasmus Mundus" degrees by Joint Masters. In addition, the UE program for Research and Innovation, "Horizon 2020", has implemented in the frame of the Actions Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) Joint European Doctorates (JED) to replace "Erasmus Mundus" doctorates.

What are they?

Joint Masters are integrated study program implemented by a consortium of institutions of at least three countries participating in the program, with a possible participation from partner countries.

They relate all disciplines and grant scholarships over a maximum of two years to the best students in the world who participate in the study program.

Studies must be carried out in at least two countries participating in the program, with a possible mobility in a partner country, depending on the structure of the consortium.

Joint Doctorates offer a funding to foreign students, generally for 36 months, for a doctoral training supervised by a joint administration and leading to a joint, double or multiple degree.

There is no nationality restriction. The doctorate student must not have stayed more than 12 months in the host country during the last three years preceding registration for the doctorate.

Please note that several joint masters and doctorates still exist under the name "Erasmus Mundus" and still offer scholarships.

Programme Description Since September 2007, the merit grant funds provided by the Agency for the Teaching of French Abroad (AEFE, agence pour l'enseignement du fran'ais l'tranger) have been combined with Major programme funds from the French foreign ministry for Major grants. Program description: The Francis Bouygues corporate foundation awards approximately 30 grants each year to:
